Our Ausangate Trek, combined with the colorful Rainbow Mountain, is one of the most outstanding in the Cusco Region; it is a tourist destination of obligatory exploration for the cultural richness and nature; you will walk on the trail of llamas and alpacas observing turquoise lagoons and the mountain chain of red, brown, cream and glaciers. ITINERARY

Day 1- Cusco - Upis.

Our tour starts with the pick up from your hotel at 06:00 am in a private minivan to the beginning of the Trek that is part of the community of Upis; this trip will last 3 hours approx. You will pass through beautiful colorful villages such as Urcos, Ocongate, and Tinki. Then we will continue with the hike with spectacular views of the Ausangate snow-capped mountain until we arrive at our camp in Upis, which is located at 4200 masl, where our chef will readily prepare our lunch, then we can go to the thermal baths or to the lagoon of Ausangate which takes 2 hours of walking round trip, but the best thing today is to save energy for the next day. Finally, we will arrive at the community of Upis, where we will meet our muleteer and have breakfast.

DAY 2- UPIS - PUCA COCHA - ANANTA

Our support staff will wake you up early, around 5 am, with our traditional coca tea or coffee in your respective cabins, and then we will have breakfast. On the way, we will observe the local alpaca herders, the snow-capped Ausangate on the left side, and flora and fauna. If lucky, we may see condors, chinchillas, and vicuñas. In addition, we will enjoy colorful lagoons; we will also pass through two passes or abras first, the Arapa pass, which is located at 4989 masl (16567 ft). We will continue with the Trek to pucaqocha where we will serve our lunch in our dining room of the Wari Adventures company, which is in front of the lagoons next. After taking pictures and a short rest, we head to our second camp, Ananta, where we also have our base with cabins and huts; tonight, we will set up tents inside the houses; our headquarters is located at 4700masl.

DAY 3- ANANTA - RAINBOW MOUNTAIN - QESUNO - CUSCO

Today is the day we will wake you up very early at 03:45 am; after breakfast, we will start with the first uphill to Ananta pass (15,090ft-4500m-14,000ft) from where you see this incredible Rainbow Mountain, also called seven color mountains in the distance, we will start descending to go around small lagoon until we arrive at the last uphill to the seven-color mountain where you will have a 360-degree view soak in and enjoy the site. Then shuffle to the red mountain or red valley for 30 minutes downhill; after that, you will head to the station where you will pick up our private transportation to Cusipata, a small town where you will have lunch and arrive at your hotel around 6 pm.

It will take place in the morning the day before departure. If the departure date is on a Monday, the briefing will occur on Saturday morning. Please take this into account when booking your flight to Cusco.

Camping staff on the Trek.

Professional tour guide fluent in English, specialized in trekking, with many years of experience and trained in first aid and rescue, who will attend from the first day to the last day of the Trek, leaving you at your hotel. Professional chef, kitchen assistant, and waiter for customer service. Our chefs are graduates of culinary schools with many years of experience cooking in the mountains; we meet them at the beginning of the Trek. Horses, in charge of maintaining all our trek logistics (camping equipment, food) and carrying 8 kg of personal belongings for each client.

DISCOUNTS

. Students: For those with a valid ISIC CARD, in case of booking under the student rate with this benefit, you must bring the original card (not a copy) to show it at the checkpoints along the Inca Trail. If the card is not shown, you will be denied entrance to the Inca Trail as the permits purchased for you will no longer be valid. Children: Between 7 and 17 years old (at the beginning of the Classic Inca Trail) pay the student rate; however, they must show a copy of their passports. Children under seven years old: They have a 30% discount.

TRAVEL INFORMATION

DUFFEL BAGS:

These will be provided at the time of the general briefing, one day before starting your Trek to each participant, and these will be carried by the porters on the Inca Trail and by the horses on the alternate routes. Consider that the weight is significant for the porters and horses; at maximum, you have to pack 7 kg, including the sleeping bags and inflatable mats. These DAFFLO BAGS will be returned at the end of the adventure or left at your hotel at the reception desk. Measurements are 65 cm long x 40 cm wide.

LUGGAGE STORAGE:

The trips on the Inca Trail and alternate routes do not need to carry your luggage, for which we have luggage storage service in our office; if you return from your trip to the same hotel where you stayed, you can leave it. will return this equipment when you return from your trip and take it to your hotel. If you have valuable things, please contact us to take them into account and protect them.

PICK-UPS

will coordinate Pick-up times with the group leader; will do this from your hotel, lodging, and Airbnb, for which the passenger must provide the exact address and reference; the pick-up time is usually 5:00 am for the different routes.
