DESCRIPTION

This magical tour offers you a full day of adventure bordering the Chicon Mountain; along this tour, you will visit ceremonial sites of great importance for the Incas, also called Saywas; from here, you will be able to see all the beautiful things of the Sacred Valley Capital - Urubamba. While enjoying our hike, we will visit ancient indigenous villages and experience ingenious Inca astronomy. Along the descent, we will witness the incredible Inca terraces and water channels still well preserved and used by the local people. We will also contemplate the palace of Sayri Tupac, a construction dedicated to agricultural and religious purposes.

ITINERARY

Brief Itinerary

Full Day: Cusco/ Urubamba - Chicón - Indigenous Community of San Juan - Yucay.

Our tour begins picking you up at the tourist van of your hotel either in Cusco or Urubamba, we will go to the community of Chicon where we will start our magical walk, we will ascend through ancestral forests of keuñas and chachacomos, and pass through the traditional villages that are in the valley of Chicon, enjoy the beautiful view of the green pastures and fields while we travel this route we can observe the majesty of the snowy Chicon, soon we will be arriving at the Saywas, astronomical observation sites, This ascent will take us approximately two and a half hours, then we will have lunch, explore and descend through an ancestral path to the indigenous community of San Juan, from this community we will descend through an inter-Andean valley surrounded by the San Juan stream until we reach the Inca agricultural terraces and irrigation canals that are still used today, We will also see fruit trees and cereal crops, finally we will arrive to Yucay where we will visit the Palace of Sayri Tupac, a site built for religious and agricultural purposes, then we will drive you to your hotel in Cusco or Urubamba.
