Trekking in Huaraz

Enjoy world-class trekking in the most impressive mountain range in the Andes Peru with Indigenous tour Operator . Peru is home to more than just the fantastic ruins of the Inca Empire: it is also the place where the second-highest mountain range in the world rises above tropical forests and grasslands. The Andes is a hiking paradise, with towering glaciated mountains, stunning alpine valleys, lakes, rivers and meadows, unique fauna and flora, and indigenous cultures that still maintain their traditional way of life. The Cordillera Blanca, in particular, is a compact mountain range within the great Andes that offers world-class trekking. Many of its snow-capped peaks rise to over 6,000 meters, creating deep glacier-carved valleys into which rivers rush down from the mountains. Our Cordillera Blanca Trek offers a portered trek in this impressive region. This all-inclusive camping trip takes you into the heart of some of the most breathtaking mountain scenery in the world. Cordillera Blanca trek 5 days 4 nights The Cordillera Blanca is a hiker's paradise, boasting dramatic snow-covered peaks and sparkling turquoise glacial lagoons. It is the highest tropical mountain range in the world, and its concentration of high rises is considered by many as second only to Annapurna in the Himalayas. Basing yourself at LLanganuco Mountain Lodge, you can enjoy beautiful views and privileged access to the Huascarán National Park, taking advantage of various day hikes that offer incredible Cordillera Blanca trekking without prior acclimatization and are carefully structured so you can adjust to the altitude. This suggested 5-day trip takes in highlights like Laguna 69. You can extend this and take more beautiful hikes, visit the ruins of Chavin, or pack your bags for more strenuous Cordillera Blanca treks such as the famous Santa Cruz camping trek after acclimatizing. Just let us know your interests and the difficulty level you're after (or not!), and we'll give you bespoke suggestions for enjoying the Cordillera Blanca.

THE LAKE AND THE RUINS OF THE KEUSHU HALF DAY TREK Early morning flight from Lima to Huaraz. You will be met for a one-and-a-half-hour transfer by road to Llanganuco Lodge in the Cordillera Blanca, arriving around 11.30 am. Set out on a light hike in the afternoon, perfect for those who have just come at altitude. Take a relaxing walk around the lodge to reach Keushu Lake, with views of the Huascaran and Cordillera Negra peaks. Walk around the lake, relax in this picturesque spot, sunbathe on the rocks or enjoy a dip in the lake's waters. Afterward, you will return to the lodge for dinner.

Day 02: CORDILLERA BLANCA

LLANGANUCO LAGOONS TREK After breakfast on the garden terrace, your private transportation will pick you up to take you to the Llanganuco Valley to begin the hike through the Lagunas. They glow emerald and turquoise under the sun's rays, formed by neighboring lakes, Lake Chinancocha and Lake Orconcocha. Your guide will take you on a scenic walk back through these impressive lakes, taking a little-known pre-Columbian trail through the cloud forest, waterfalls, and bromeliad canopies covering the imposing U-shaped valley. You will take the pre-Inca stone bridge on your way home, avoiding the tourists in groups today visiting the lake from Huaraz.

Day 03: CORDILLERA BLANCA

HUANDOY SNOWY TREK After an early breakfast with a view of the majestic peaks of Huascaran, depart with your local guide through the Rajururi valley to Huandoy Mountain. The narrow trail follows a mountain stream that winds around the lake and the ruins of Keshua, offering ever-impressive views before plunging into the short, thin, and dizzying canyon of Rajurur, which means "ice behind" in Quechua. Below the towering 700-meter cliff, with its waterfall, you will find the lowest ice in the Cordillera Blanca, where the Incas have harvested cones for generations and still do so today. Chances are, you will not see another soul during the entire day of trekking. You will have a box lunch from the lodge to enjoy during the trek and a well-deserved dinner at the club in the evening.

Day 04: CORDILLERA BLANCA

TREK LAGOON 69 A high lake with sparkling blue waters in the heart of the Cordillera Blanca, La Laguna 69 is a highlight for visitors to the region. After breakfast, you will be picked up in your private transportation for the 45-minute transfer to the well-established trailhead to and from the lake. The trail winds through the Demanda Valley from the area known as Cebollapampa, passing a huge waterfall and a small lagoon, which opens up to views of the twin peaks of the Huascaran massif. Passing some ruins, you will traverse the last set of zigzags before being rewarded with the idea of Laguna 69, located at the foot between the peaks of Chacaraju (6112m) and Pisco (5752m). The return is faster, with more descent. Your private transportation will be waiting to take you back to the lodge.

Day 05: CORDILLERA BLANCA FLIGHT TO LIMA & DEPARTURE
