ITINERARY
Day 01: Cusco - Manu Cloud Forest - Treehouse Lodge
- We will then travel for 2 hours through fabulous views of mountains and valleys, passing through Paucartambo (the folkloric capital of Cusco), which features beautiful Spanish colonial architecture and an ancient stone bridge. - Lookout point at Acjanaco at the 4000 m (13,123 ft) pass for an exceptional view over the cloud forest and lowlands. We are the entry point to Manu National Park. From here, we travel through pristine cloud forest that feeds the local flora unique to this climate. - The scenery is breathtaking: we will pass many waterfalls, panoramic views of the valley, and dense cloud forest vegetation: mosses, lichens, orchids, and birds unique to this part of the world roam the mountainside. The cock of the rock, trogons, tanagers, capuchin monkeys, and woolly monkeys can also be seen. We will spend the night in the rustic and cozy tree house.Day 02: Parrot and macaw clay lick - River Tubing
- At 5 am, we head to the parrot clay lick, and in good weather, we will experience a unique phenomenon in the Manu Delta: tens to hundreds of parakeets, parrots, and macaws descend on the nutrient-rich clay creating a spectacle of color and sound that you will never forget. Toucan monkeys and flocks of birds also visit the riverbank. We will stay here for an hour and a half, observing this incredible jungle landscape and its inhabitants. After breakfast, we will embark on a beautiful hike through the pristine forest, observing more wildlife. With our specialized guides, you can locate and identify the different animals and plants that surround you and what they are used for. - After a typical lunch, we'll take an afternoon trip down the river on tractor tires! We will go tubing 3.5 km down the Palotoa River, a relaxing and refreshing trip floating on the current where you will be surrounded by forest and jumping monkeys. You may even see otters swimming, and you will see many water birds. We are the only tour company that offers this memorable river tubing trip. Overnight at our comfortable Robles Treehouse Lodge.Day 03: Treehouse Lodge - Cusco
- Waking up early to the sound of Dusky Titi Monkeys, we will pack our bags and enjoy our last breakfast with the chorus of the morning birds. Back on the motorized boat, we have the last great opportunity to see wildlife on the river on our way back to Atalaya. - Capybaras, eagles, herons, jungle vultures, and many other birds are fishing the waters. As on any day in the jungle, surprise appearances await us, and we have a second chance of sightings along the way through the cloud forest back to Cusco. We arrive in Cusco at approx. 4:00 pm, and our tour concludes when we take you to your respective hotels.INCLUDES
