AMAZON CRUISE
Escape to the most biodiverse regions of the world while cruising the Amazon River. Iquitos is the gateway to exploring the Amazon River in the Peruvian Amazon. Accommodations tend to be more rustic, but Iquitos is where the most luxurious Amazon River cruises embark. The city of Iquitos has a fascinating history, while beyond the buildings, the dense rainforest seems endless. River cruises sail around the Pacaya Samiria Reserve, where you'll have ample opportunities for bird watching, spotting pink river dolphins, and perhaps an elusive jaguar.WHAT TO BRING?

ITINERARY
Day 01: Lima - Amazon River.
- Your jungle adventure begins with a flight to Iquitos. Watch for the first sightings of birds, reptiles, and animals along the banks of the Amazon River. The cruise staff will meet you upon arrival and transfer you to your departure point, where you will safely stow large luggage items and board the cruise ship. - Spend the afternoon with your naturalist guide doing light exploration as you acclimate to the humid rainforest environment. - Cruise guides will brief you on activities, itineraries, and shore stops before departing for your first day on the waters of the Amazon River.Note: The exact order of activities may vary due to weather conditions and other considerations. Your Amazon guide will detail the activities you will enjoy each day.
Day 02: Explore the Amazon River
- Try kayaking on the quieter parts of the Amazon River while observing wildlife. You can even try your hand at piranha fishing with equipment provided by the cruise staff. Meanwhile, enjoy deliciously prepared meals that highlight Amazonian cuisine. - Embark on small excursions with the cruise boats where you will witness beautiful river life such as piranhas, expertly camouflaged caimans, and the enigmatic paiche fish that can reach up to 15 feet.Note: The exact order of activities may vary due to weather conditions and other considerations. Day 03: Visit Native Communities and Wildlife Refuges
- Visit native communities and wildlife refuges as you navigate the Amazon River observing monkeys, sloths, hoatzins, and toucans on the riverbanks. - Observe tribal rituals while learning about the traditional ways of life of the communities. You will also have the opportunity to learn about different jungle plants, their uses, and how these communities hunt and grow different types of food.Note: The exact order of activities may vary due to weather conditions and other considerations. TRAVEL INFORMATION
DUFFEL BAGS
This will be provided when giving you the general information one day before the start of your trek to each participant. Consider that the weight is significant for the porters and horses; at maximum, you must pack 7 kg, including sleeping bags and inflatable mats. These DAFFLO BAGS will be returned at the end of the adventure or left at your hotel at the reception. The measurements are 65 cm long x 40 cm wide.LUGGAGE STORAGE
The trips on the route do not need to carry your luggage, for which we have the luggage storage service in our office; if you return from your trip to the same hotel where you stayed, you can leave it. This equipment will be returned when you return from your trip and will take you to your hotel. If you have valuable items, please let us know so we can take them into account and protect them.PICK-UPS
