DESCRIPTION
The Lares Trek via Pumahuanca offers an excellent opportunity to experience the living culture of our ancestors, the Incas. On the route, the people keep alive their traditions, such as clothing, textiles, language, and Inca religion, in the indigenous community of Cuncani. In addition, you will visit Machu Picchu, start near Urubamba in the Sacred Valley of the Incas through the Pumahuanca Valley, Pumahuanca Pass, Cuncani, and finish the Trek with a relaxing bath in the thermal baths of Lares. During the Trek, you will pass through small villages that offer a rare and fascinating glimpse of traditional Andean life, beautiful green valleys, turquoise lagoons, herds of Llamas and Alpacas, views of the snow-capped mountains, local people dressed in their typical and colorful costumes, see the ancestral agricultural customs and unique Andean textiles. On day three, you will travel by bus from Lares to the town of Ollantaytambo; in the afternoon, we will go by train to Aguas Calientes, where they will be waiting to take you to the hostel. Finally, on the most critical day, the visit to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu will give time to explore this Inca wonder, and then you can climb Huayna Picchu or Old Mountain. Day 01: Cusco-Urubamba- Pumahuanca
We will pick you up at your hotel at 05.30 am for a panoramic drive through the Sacred Valley, passing through Chincheros, and stop in the town of Urubamba for Breakfast at our family farm. Also, buy any last-minute snacks, water, etc. Leaving Urubamba around 07:20 am, we will travel another 25 minutes by bus to the entrance of the Pumahuanca valley, famous for its white corn crops and chicha (traditional beer of the Incas). This is the place where we will meet our horses and muleteers. We begin our hike through this beautiful valley where Queuñas (polylepis) forests prevail with a gentle zigzag ascent, with breathtaking views of the valley and surrounding mountains. 3-4 hours walk to the archaeological complex of Inca-Kancha; after exploring this complex, we will have our first organic lunch. Time to relax or take a nap, then we will continue hiking into the Queñas forest until we reach the Andean community of Paccha, where spectacular mountain scenery, herds of llamas, sheep, and alpacas await us. Two more hours of trekking to appreciate many small waterfalls and arrive at our camp (4010masl) called Cuyoc.- Meals: B, L, D - Snacks

Day 02: Pumahuanca-Cuncani-Lares.
Wake up at 06:00 am with a cup of coca leaf tea after an excellent nutritional breakfast. At 07:30 am. Begin our hike with panoramic views of the snowy Chicon, San Juan, and Veronica (La Llorona). Surrounded by a native forest, a challenging 5-hour adventure awaits us, climb along a path with stone stairs; in some parts, there are zigzagging curves towards the Pumahuanca Pass located at 4780 masl ("Apachetas" are a series of stacked stones made by travelers who passed through the pass as a symbol of gratitude and respect to the Apus), Once we reach the key, we honor the mountains with coca leaves as is the local custom. Enjoy the breathtaking views of a part of Moray, Maras, and Salineras. Then we are ready to descend for an hour along a stone path with a nice view of both sides, arriving to enjoy lunch near the impressive lakes, where we can rest. After lunch, we walk for two more hours, mainly downhill, and on the way, we will meet some local farmers in colorful costumes as it is traditional in all the villages that are around the Lares Valley, with impressive views of landscapes, snowy mountains, herds of llamas and alpacas. Camping in the community of Cuncani, located at 3900 masl, where we will enjoy a delicious Novo Andean dinner and camping. Cuncani is the leading community in the area. Cuncani is also very famous for its textiles produced with ancestral weaving techniques; you will be able to buy handmade textile crafts made by the villagers of Cuncani / Lares.- Meals: B, L, snacks D

Day 03: Lares-Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes.
This day is the last stage of the Trek in Lares, it will be easier, so you can sleep late, at 8:00 am breakfast. The town of Lares is known for its medicinal hot springs; after our lunch, we will continue with the trip for 3 hours in our private transportation to the town of Ollantaytambo, where we will take the train to Aguas Calientes for 2 hours. In this small village, we have the opportunity to visit the house of our muleteer Luis Cabeza who will share with us the way they live simply in deep connection with nature, preserving traditional customs in agriculture, weaving, showing their textile skills of past generations, the use of medicinal plants. After 4 hours of walking downhill to reach the town of Lares, we can enjoy the therapeutic waters once we arrive at the thermal baths.- Lodging: Hostel

Day 04: Machu Picchu Tour.
After a hot breakfast at the hotel, we will take the early bus to Machu Picchu; we will climb for an hour and a half until we reach the Machupicchu mountain to have a panoramic view of the entire contour of the Inca Citadel; this will be a unique and unforgettable experience. Then you will have a 2 to 3-hour tour to get the information about the sacred city and the opportunity to explore and admire the Inca ingenuity. Then we will head back to Aguas Calientes by bus and Cusco by train.INCLUDES

TRAVEL INFORMATION
DUFFEL BAGS:
These will be provided at the time of giving you general information one day before starting your Trek to each participant, and these will be carried by the porters on the Inca Trail and by the horses on the alternate routes. Consider that the weight is significant for the porters and horses; at maximum, you have to pack 7 kg, including the sleeping bags and inflatable mats. These DAFFLO BAGS will be returned at the end of the adventure or left at your hotel at the reception desk. Measurements are 65 cm long x 40 cm wide.LUGGAGE STORAGE:
The trips on the Inca Trail and alternate routes do not need to carry your luggage, for which we have the luggage storage service in our office; if you return from your trip to the same hotel where you stayed, you can leave it. will return this equipment when you return from your trip and take it to your hotel. The return from the city of Machupicchu requires absolute punctuality for the transportation organization, for which we will provide all the details of the return.
